Although we have decided to have a virtual race this year volunteers still play a vital role at the SuperHero 5K Walk & Stroller Roll!  

Every child needs a hero, but abused children need SuperHeroes. Make a difference in the life of an abused or neglected child today by participating as as volunteer for the 6th Annual SuperHero 5K, Walk & Stroller Roll benefiting Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Foundation of Tampa Bay.

Although we need to go virtual this year, this will still be a great opportunity to have fun and support a great cause!  There are more than 3,300 children in Pinellas and Pasco Counties who have been  removed from their home through no fault of their own. You can help us behind the scenes or help us by promoting the event to everyone you know!  Join us in helping to ensure that when a child’s life hangs in the balance, we are there to help children heal, grow and thrive.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING
LIABILITY RELEASE, INDEMNITY AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE:
I wish to volunteer for the SuperHero 5K Run, Walk, and Stroller Roll. I understand that my consent to these provisions is given in consideration for being permitted to volunteer for the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE NATURE OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES THAT I MAY PERFORM IN MY CAPACITY AS A VOLUNTEER MAY INVOLVE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, CONTACT WITH UNIDENTIFIED OR UNFAMILIAR PERSONS, OR OTHER POTENTIAL RISK OF BODILY INJURY OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND I HEREBY VOLUNTARILY ASSUME FULL AND COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR, AND THE RISK OF, ANY INJURY OR ACCIDENT WHICH MAY OCCUR DURING MY VOLUNTEER WORK WITH THE GUARDIAN AD LITEM FOUNDATION OF TAMPA BAY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, I, FOR MYSELF, MY NEXT OF KIN, MY HEIRS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND EXECUTORS (COLLECTIVELY, "RELEASORS"), HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AND COVENANT NOT TO FILE SUIT AGAINST (I) THE GUARDIAN AD LITEM FOUNDATION OF TAMPA BAY AND (II) ALL OTHER PERSONS OR ENTITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUPERHERO 5K RUN, WALK, AND STROLLER ROLL (COLLECTIVELY, THE "RELEASEES") FOR ANY INJURY OR DAMAGES I MIGHT SUFFER IN CONNECTION WITH MY VOLUNTEER WORK WITH THE GAURDIAN AD LITEM FOUNDATION OF TAMPA BAY. THIS RELEASE APPLIES TO ANY AND ALL LOSS, LIABILITY, OR CLAIMS I OR MY RELEASORS MAY HAVE ARISING OUT OF MY VOLUNTEER WORK FOR THE EVENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGE SUFFERED BY ME OR OTHERS, WHETHER SUCH LOSSES, LIABILITIES, OR CLAIMS BE CAUSED BY CONTACT WITH AND/OR THE ACTIONS OF OTHER PERSONS, CONTACT WITH FIXED OR NON-FIXED OBJECTS, NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, RISKS NOT KNOWN TO ME OR NOT REASONABLY FORESEEABLE AT THIS TIME, OR OTHERWISE.

At all times during my volunteer work with the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay, I will conduct myself in such a manner as not to reflect unfavorably on or in any way diminish the reputation of the organization.

I give my consent and permission to the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay the irrevocable right to use, for any purpose whatsoever and without compensation, any photographs, videotapes, audiotapes, or other recordings of me that are made during the course of volunteering for the event.
This Waiver, Release, Promise not to Sue, Authorization and Release to Use Likeness Form shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any legal action related to or arising out of this Form shall be commenced exclusively in the Superior Court in and for Pinellas County, Florida (or if the Superior Court shall not have jurisdiction over the subject matter thereof, then to such other court sitting in Pinellas County, Florida having subject matter jurisdiction). I certify I am eighteen (18) years of age or older and, if I am executing this Waiver and Permission Form on behalf of my child or ward, the information set forth above pertaining to my child or ward is true and complete.
SEVERABILITY. If any provision of this Form shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this Form and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
I HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPT THE CONDITIONS OF THIS (i) LIABILITY RELEASE, INDEMNITY, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE.

  • Help us to get the word out about the SuperHero 5K by sharing posts and videos on your social media channels.

  • Don your Superhero Costume and take a quick selfie or video and tell us why you participate in the Super Hero 5K! Please submit pictures and/or videos no later than 9/9/2020 to be used on social media in the month leading up to the event!

  • Grab your mask and come join us as we put together the swag bags for run and walk participants. Masks and sanitizer will be provided for volunteers.

  • Assists through distributing packets to runners and walkers. This will be a drive through pick up with limited interaction with other. Masks and sanitizer will be provided for volunteers.
